Though such invasion of privacy has been considered as a serious threat, the advantages of cell phone tracking far exceeds these threats. The service can be used by parents to keep a strict vigil on their children. Security forces use it for defense related purposes, such as tracking down a terrorist. It can prove to be a useful technology in emergency situations being stranded in sea or a forest.
